Subject: UNH list?

Although the UNH list has apparently been resurrected I would personally prefer to just
continue the MF3D discussions here.

The format of the UNH messages never worked well with my Mac, and Yahoo groups
seems to be a well established and more reliable option. Also I agree with George that it
seems bizarre to not be able to promote and give out the address of the MF3D forum,
especially now that all the new products coming in from China might start generating
some real interest in the broader photographic community.

Just to amplify this point, I recently created a yahoogroups mailing list
for the Stereo Realist. I am advertising this list at the top of my Stereo
Realist web page (www.3dRealist.com) so it is seen by lots of people
searching for "Stereo Realist" (a google search brings my web page first.)
As a result, lots of people have joined the list and, Dr. Dave can testify
:) to this, people who post there do not appear to have joined any other 3d
list (in other words, there are not the same usual suspects from photo-3d,
etc.)

If Sam Smith (or others who have strong medium format stereo web pages) do
something similar, I am sure traffic will increase and this can only be good
for MF 3D stereo.

I would of course support any MF3D list regardless of type. But I do
have questions regarding the new UNH list:

1. Will there be a method of posting files, like images of cameras?
The old list went to a Yahoo site for this, which many were not a
member of.
2. Will commercial but strictly MF3D-related posts be allowed?
3. Will there be a public archive?

BTW, I was not sent the original notice, so I assume others did not
get it as well.
