Subject: leak through the red window?

I've finally had a minute to look at my four
test rolls from the TL120.

The sharpness and consistency of exposure is
very impressive. Several of my images show
a red blur on the left chip. It sure looks
like a light leak to me and I suspect it is
from the "red window".

I have been careless in keeping the window
closed. This has never been a problem with
my Sputnik where I routinely leave the door
open. It looks like I may need to change
my ways.

I've posted a sample at:

and at

Does anyone see anything there to indicate
that I'm barking up the wrong tree?

I now have my TL120-1 (the model with the big grip) and the mounting jig. I
will be back in Canada in 2 days. I`ll let you know if I have the same
problems.

It doesn't look like a "Red Window" leak to me. The straight
line edge of the red strike would tend to rule that out. If
the strike extends off the image area it is likely in either
the supply or take-up chamber if in the camera. It is
possible that the "leak" occurred when the film was outside
the camera. Was this view a first or last on the roll?

If it does not extend off the image then it could be an
internal reflection somewhere in the camera or even a "leak"
in the focal plain shutter.

No doubt more testing is needed.

I just got my TL120 rolls back and looked through them. I did just
like you, kept my red window open. No red blur in my images, so I
guess your problem must depend on something else.

No red blur for me either. Unfortunately it looks like my left lens
is not well sealed. I went to shoot some pictures near a water fall
and some kind of haze began to appear. The problem has now resolved
by itself but I'm a bit concerned. I wonder if I should get this
lens fixed by 3D World...
