Hello All,

Can anyone tell me if the TL-120 focuses by moving the entire lens group in and out – or if
focus is achieved by just moving the front element on each lens.

Much appreciated,

Randy

as far as I can tell, it focuses by moving the front element. This may
actually involve moving one of the middle elements along with it but it
does not focus by shifting the lens board or the film-plane.

Disregard my previous note. After posting it I received the
following from Don Lopp:
". . .Generally speaking, only 3 and 4 element lenses focus
without moving the whole lens unit."

This led me to actually open the back of the camera and shutter to
observe the back elements while focusing.

It now looks to me like the entire lens assembly shifts forward and back
as one unit inside the outer lens barrel. It is still correct to say
that neither the lens board nor the film-plane moves.
