Has anyone succesfully made an adjustable focus hack on these cheap
(but decent image, it seems) viewers? I can only use the thing with
reading glasses, which leads to bad vignetting.

I had thought of running one thru my plexiglass-cutting table saw and
extending the whole case, but am seeking more expert opinions here
before proceeding :-)

Thanks, John

I have also been tempted to add focusing to this viewer since I have the same issue with farsighted vision, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
In the meantime, I've been using a very low-tech solution, which is to mount in thin carboard mounts (rather than the 3D World plastic mounts) since that allows some wiggle room.
I then view the slide by tilting the top of the mount slightly forward (towards me) in the viewer (which pivots the images back away from the lenses) in order to achieve the proper focal length for my eyes.
The image being slightly tilted off of a plane parallel to the lenses does not introduce any objectionable distortion (at least to me, anyway !).
