I have just had the pleasure of spending a week with a half dozen medium
format B&W slides taken by Jim Harp. All were processed by DR5 with some
in their neutral developer #1 and some in their sepia developer #2. I
believe all were Iford PanF 50 film. I will let Jim elaborate on the
shooting and processing.

What I would like to say is how beautiful these images are. I was
especially interested in seeing the sepia images as I am thinking about
going this route for some of my cave shots. After seeing Jim's I can say
without a doubt that I will definitely be trying it.

Several people here commented that they thought sepia images might have
too much of an "old time fair photo" look and people would not take them
seriously or as seriously as the same thing in a traditional B&W chrome.
I did not find that to be the case nor did any of the people I showed
them to. In fact several commented that they had an antique feel to them
but they were way too sharp and realistic looking to be that old.

Anyway I wanted to thank Jim for letting me see these images and helping
me make up my mind about trying it.

I am sure many others would like to see these images and perhaps the best
way to do that would be for Jim to bring them to the 2007 NSA/ISU
Convention/Congress in July and have all of you also come. We could set
up a medium format section in the Stereo Art Gallery with Jim's and
other's images. Maybe we could even talk Sam Smith into spearheading this
effort. What do you say Sam?

Thanks,
