I'm sorry to hear about your synch chord. This happened to me once. I couldn't find a way
to fix it, and even tried removing a PC socket from a Yashica Mat and trying to connect that.
Someone suggested that a jeweler might have the tools to replace this thing, but that would
probably cost more than a new Spud. I also once lost the shutter release jack on another
Sputnik.
These cameras are not well put together. (I'm sorry if I'm shocking anyone with this news.)
For my current Sputnk I hot glued in both the cable release jacks and the flash cable, and
then glued and taped these cables to the camera in several places to provide stress relief. I
used a small piece of cardboard to support the release cable. I've been able to go a few
years without a problem on this camera, so I recommend this strategy to any Sputnik user,
even though it may void the warranty.
