Thanks to all who have contributed to the first 1000 posts. They where
relatively noise free and very informative. Unfortunately in #1001,
one asshole just got through and spammed the group. He has now been
banned. One in 1000 is not bad though!

I'd like to add my own thanks to all who contribute. I have taken
on board a lot of advice and useful ideas from many of you over the
last year or so, and just this week, I have finally earned my first
income as a professional photographer with a permanent MF 3D display
set up here in Tasmania. Hopefully, there will be many more to
follow. Thanks again everyone.

I would really like to hear, and see, more about this display.

The display is set up in a local tourism information centre using one
of the 3D World coin operated viewers. Because the height adjustment
mechanism is such a clumsy thing to use, I ended up bolting it into
place at one height, then mounted the whole thing on a stable wooden
base and bolted a height adjustable swivel stool in front of it. I'll
try and post a photo in the next day or two. The photography on
display is mostly local scenery from areas that they want to promote
to visitors.

It's early days yet as to how much it will be used and also how well
it stands up to public use.

3D World also provide a set of their own slides with these viewers but
so far, the few sets I have got are poorly presented. They are dirty
and scratched and often poorly mounted. My most recent set from them
(Tibet) all appeared to be taken with a twin rig with poor synch and
there are a lot of visible differences in the left and right chips. I
don't know that I would ever use them for public display.

I would also really like to hear about this in the future.

I'll certainly keep you informed of its success (or otherwise). I
have been trying to post a photo of the unit but once again, I have
failed to get it to appear. I keep getting a network error message.
I'll keep working on it.
