With the NSA Convention ISU Congress coming up in Boise, how about a
show of hands...

I haven't see any of y'all since Portland in '04 so I'm wondering who is
planning on being there.

I know I can count on seeing Dave Kessner :)
I don't expect to see Don Lopp there :(
I think George Themelis has said he won't be there :(

Any one else want to announce?

I'll be there, with boxes of slides taken with my Don-Lopp-modified Sputnik. As I'm fond of telling anyone who understands, Don Lopp "pimped my Spud!"

Don is going to be recovering for a while. I'll bring along a box of his slides.

I look forward to meeting you, John!

John, I recall that a while back you were interested in seeing some slides of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge - I'll bring some (most are 35mm since I was just experimenting with MF for the first time then)

I think George wishes all west coast NSA conventions were banned.
Something
always seems to happen to keep him from coming for as long as I can
remember. I think
he goes to every one I don't go to, and vice-versa. :-)

So obviously I'll be at this one... hoping there will be a TL120 there
to see
"in person". Of course judging by conversations here, it seems that
each unit is
an ever so slightly different model, so maybe one can't be sure what one
is seeing, even
in person. :-) :-) :-)

Maybe we can get them all together for a "family portrait"
and see the evolution from old to new :)

I will be there, with my Baskinized Sputnik and a few other cameras.

The most logical place for that would be the "Medium Format
Meeting/Discussion and Image Sharing" from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday the
13th in the Payette River Room.

I'm going to bet that we will find one hour to be much too short for this meeting.
Just viewing the wonderful slides that everyone will bring could take longer than that.
Any contingency plans to scout for an open room to continue after 2 pm Friday if needed ?

Well, I hope so!
It takes me an hour of _quiet_ time when I get my folio box
in the mail. Toss in discussion and several boxes and I
hope it turns into a couple days worth of viewing :)

Bob and others,

MF3D viewing goes on throughout the convention, so you should be well
fed. This specific spot was booked in advance as an informal
get-together of MF3D enthusiasts. Although sounding a little casual,
preparation is not. Along with David's and other's efforts to organize
the space, there's also all the details of getting volunteers to man
the tables, organizing the folios to coincide with the meeting, and
making sure there's enough knowledgeable people on hand to keep the
discussion going.

Yes, they tend to be standing room only events. Some years we did plan
out a second date, but it all depends on who has the time to manage
it. Being a Friday instead of Thursday should give more people time to
plan, but please make sure to arrive a little early. Don't forget to
view the MF3D exhibit displays as well, which are at least there on
Friday and Saturday.

The sky is the limit for this meeting. I have rejected the formal
presentation format like last year, as it just didn't feel right.
There are no sponsors, so this should be a totally unbiased (haha)
group. Bring your slides, viewers, ideas and questions and join in the
fun!

Sam

Multiple contingencies *{;-)

1) Someone designates their hotel room as the "Medium Format Slide
Sharing Room" on the room hopping board.

2) There will be a hospitality room in the hotel for our private use that
will be open and available for any sort of meeting or sharing.

3) The lobby of the Convention Centre will be a very central gathering
area and place to share.

4) Find indivduals on your own that want to share images at your
convenience.

The room for this meeting is set up class room style with 56 chairs in
front of small desks (four chairs wide). I though this would be better
than in the theater style room with 72 chairs side by side. More than 56
and they will need to stand.

I hope this will please most people.

I'll be there with my Stereflektoskop. I will clean it up in case a distant cousin from Old World would qualify for the family portrait.
