Focusing is essential. And whatever can be done for good eye relief
for eyeglass wearers. I find that I can see better freeviewing
against a lightbox or other light source rather than using an
unmodified 3D world viewer, because I can't focus on the image
either with or without my glasses using the viewer. (I am
nearsighted and presbyopic, also with enough astigmatism that it is
better that I use glasses rather than relying on the viewer for all
the focusing). Don Lopp has my viewer for modification, but another
list member was kind enough to loan me a viewer temporarily.

Having it lighted is somewhat less of a priority for me but
certainly it would be very nice to have a bright but lightweight
light source. A removable light would be even better to allow STL
use as well if needed, e.g. outdoors or if the batteries go dead.
Removable isn't a high priority.

It should be capable of accepting both plastic and cardboard mounts.

Interocular adjustment probably not worth the trouble and expense
IMO, but if it could be done inexpensively this might occasionally
be useful.

Lightweight, compact, and inexpensive with excellent optics
please. -Linda
