Hi All, here is a simple circuit with just 2 components which switches
the light off when the drum rotates. See it here:

http://tech.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/MF3D-group/photos/browse/7410?c=

This is for viewers with LED lighting panel only. The transistor, a
darlington pair TIP127, made for switching applications is easily
obtained, and the resistor is 470 ohms 1/4 watt. The TIP127 is simply
put in the positive line going to the LED panel, and the resistor hooks
onto the positive wire going to the motor. Works GREAT !

If anyone is interested, I can give a more detailed How-to. This mod
can be done on the circuit board or in the space behind the LED Panel.
Requires Viewer disassembly (easy).

Happy 3D-ing, Peter

Peter, thank you!
I've been meaning to buy a viewer and figure out how to do this but
you've saved me the trouble.

Hi John, you're welcome. Make sure you get the LED lighting model,
their best and recommended. It really is the best with instant
lighting, low power, can even run off a 12 volt battery, and with even
illumination. I highly recommend it. Cheers, Peter
