Subject: Specific information regarding metering in the TL120Date: 2008-01-13 20:37:25From: John Thurston
The new TL120 camera I have uses a body mounted sensor to
feed its metering circuit. The light for this sensor is
gathered in the prism and transmitted to the sensor through a
bundle of fiber-optic strands.
I don't know for certain how the "pick-up" ends of the fibers
are positioned over the prism, but I think they are located
in one spot.
The meter indicator-LEDs will function with the prism removed
but the meter will be responding to ambient light and _will
not_ be metering what the camera is seeing. The 3D World
prism is still an integral part of the TL120 metering system
and the meter _will not_ work without it.
