Subject: Oops - a word of warning concerning the TL120

I happen to have the lens board removed from my TL120 right
now (which is why I noticed that one has four screws and the
other has five) and make the following observation:

Before you remove the lens board, remove any quick-release
plates from the camera body (an extension of this would be
"don't tripod mount a TL120 which does not have a lens board
in it").

I tried to re-fit the board to my camera and found it
wouldn't fit; the board was too tall! I had a long moment of
panic before I removed the quick-release plate I keep
attached to the bottom of the camera and noted that the
plastic camera body relaxed just a bit and made (once again)
a perfect sized opening to receive the lens board.

This was noticed on my older TL120 which does not have the
silver-colored tripod-reinforcing plate on the underside. I
haven't yet checked my newer camera to see if it has the same
characteristic.

Well spotted John. I took my lens board off my older model TL120 not
long after I got it and wondered (with a similar mild panic) why it
wouldn't go back on quite so easily. I had a quick release plate
mounted.

I'll know in future to take it off. Thanks John.
