Subject: Yet another TL120 differenceDate: 2008-02-16 22:26:45From: John Thurston
I just pulled the lens board off my new TL120 and discovered
a significant difference from my older one.
In my older one, the meter is fed aperture information from a
ring around the viewing lens. This was passed from the lens
to the body via three spring-loaded pins on the body pressing
against contacts on the back of the lens. This made it
cake-simple to remove and replace the lens board.
My newer camera has a three conductor cable running from the
body to the viewing lens. It's a nice cable, but it's a
soldered connection. Removing and replacing the lens board
on the newer TL120 cameras is now more involved than it used
to be.
The three pins and their associated contacts can be see in
the photos at http://stereo.thurstons.us/TL120-inside.htm
I haven't posted pictures of the newer, soldered connection.
