I know as true stereo photograph enthusiast that side by side viewing
is preferred by most. However, would you guy rather see posts that are
parallel or crossed?

I think we're all mature enough here to work with whatever
you can provide :)

(As soon as this thread degenerates into a parallel/cross
religious-argument, it goes in my kill-file.)

Thanks for asking. Since I view things on the screen, magnified viewers unfortunately magnify pixels as well. I'd prefer crossviews for freeviewing.

By adding one image to the stereo pair, you can give the person viewing the images the option of parallel or crossview.

Example:

Left 2 are parallel, right 2 are crossview.  One extra image would end the discussion and make everyone happy.

Great idea! I will change it as soon as I get a chance. Thank you!

Not so fast. Everyone happy, indeed. Not likely. 8-)

The problem with LRL triplets is that the individual image halves becomes pretty small at 1/3 of the monitor width. Most parallel viewers may not mind, but cross viewers become particularly cross when they can't look at large images, one of the advantages of cross-eyed viewing. I like large parallel views, myself.

Anyway, you might be able to please everyone if you post both LR and RL views of each image. But as a wise man said earlier, if you just post one or the other format, the rest of us can deal with it. Using Stereophoto Maker as a viewer allows folks like me who can only view parallel to stop whining when other folks post their views cross-eyed only. 8-)  -Linda

Personally, I don't understand the urge to share medium format 3D
images on a computer monitor - apart from urgently seeking advice on
a technical issue maybe?. I am currently enjoying viewing the slides
of many other MF photographers in a folio. There's absolutely nothing
like seeing the real thing. Even if you do need some advice from
someone else, why not send them the real thing via snail mail? As
film users, surely we aren't in much of a hurry are we? 8^) Long
live the folio circuit!

regards to all,

The benefit of medium format is the size it offers. Viewing
it directly in a high-quality viewer can't be beat. Using the
film to make great big prints is probably a pretty good use,
too. This is why I asked Jeremy what his planned final format
is, I think the TL120 is over-kill if the target is a
computer screen.

But, Jeremy asked politely if we'd take a look at images from
his TL120 on a computer screen and I'm perfectly happy to do so.

> Long live the folio circuit!

I hope it does live long and I hope we can encourage Jeremy
to get some slide film in his TL120 so he can participate, too.
