I finally used the slide film and the results were great! I used the
plastic slide mounts that came with my camera. The actual slides seem a
bit exposed with no glass or plastic covering them. Are all slide
mounts with out a protective cover?

That's good news :)

I hope you are using the newer "Sam Smith" mounts. Is 3D
world still offering their original (mis-designed) mounts? My
deep hope is that the molds for those mounts were destroyed
and all existing stock was melted down. I would hate for
anyone to be trying to mount images in those things!

Both Rocky Mountain Memories and Sam Smith have offered
protective sleeves for slides. RMM sleeves really work best
for the 80x132 (cardboard) mounts. Sam Smith's product works
for the 80x132 but is also a good fit for the 80x140
(plastic) mounts.

They add a bit to the storage-height of the slides but keep
messy fingers away from the film. The downside, imho, are the
four extra surfaces they offer dust and dirt.

If you would like a couple samples of these sleeves, please
contact me off-list.
