Has by any chance anyone taken apart the mounting jig? Does anyone
know what kind of light bulb is used? I would like to build a
"Kaiserpanorama" for just one slide, well a lightbox.
AND:
There is an American company that plans to sell a new viewer soon.
They are already selling lenses (f = 13,5 cm). Does anyone know
anything about it?

If you are discussing the 3D World mounting jig, it uses a
12V LED panel. Check the list archives. I seem to recall I
posted some data regarding its light output at different
voltages. (It may have been late in '06)

I'm having trouble picturing how I am going to effectively
use a plastic lens with a 135mm focal length in a stereo
viewer.

Can you enlighten me?

No, unfortunately not.
Before I ordered I asked them what kind of viewer they were about to
release and they sent me a link to a jpg of their blueprint. Next time
I tried to open it, it was gone again already.
As far as I could tell it was a folding viewer for stereo cards.
The rims of the lenses are designed to fit into a round hole in a
sheet of cardboard.
I am sorry I did not download the blueprint right away.

Those look like the lenses used in the fold up viewers sold by Taylor
Merchant. <http://www.taylor-merchant.com/>

You can see it here <http://www.stereopticon.com/>
