Subject: A Rolleidoscop for 35mm film?

From: John Thurston
First off, there are a lot of rolleidoscops on flea-bay right
now. But my question relates specifically to the baby 'scop
as item 150257377831

There is a little knob in-line with the finder lens but on
the under side of the lens board. What the heck is it? I
have placed a copy of the seller's second image at:
http://www.alaska.net/~thurston/images/rsp2.jpg

The second question is what is the wheel and knob on the
underside of the back? It looks like a film counter. Has
this thing been converted to shoot 35mm film?

(Now that I think about it, is this an on-topic post for the
MF3D list?)

(I consider my reposting of the sellers' images as referenced
in this mail message to be fair-use. If anyone here feels
differently, please contact me off-list with your thoughts.)

I saw those pictures on eBay and it seems pretty clear from the plate
that it was indeed converted to 35mm. I think I have seen another
similar one before. Too bad they did not take advantage of the width
and made it into a 35mm panoramic camera !

I just looked in my folders and found that I have on file some
pictures of a Heidoskop with a 120 rollfilm back as well as a custom-
made 35mm back. The 35mm back is for twin full frame (24x36mm)
pictures.
