Geez, go away for a few days and some weasel sneaks in.

PS: I was actually shooting MF3D again. I took a TL120 into the
mountains around Puerto Vallarta. Nothing earth-shattering, but I did
have a good hike!

Good to hear this, Sam :)
How was it traveling with film? Were you able to get it across
the borders without too much hassle?

Hi John,

I had no problems convincing Customs in either Canada or Mexico to
hand inspect my film. It was definitely an advantage to take a direct
flight that didn't touch down on US soil, especially since I was
allowed to bring tequila as carry on! I brought Provia 400 and 100.
I'll know later in the week how it came out.

Knowing it was rainy season in a rainforest, I elected to scrap the
camera bag and use a waterproof diver's bag instead. This worked
amazingly well strapped across my shoulder, and the TL-120 was not
even noticeable weight wise. I also stripped down to the bare minimum
of gear, no shades, prism or tripod, just a beanbag and cable release.
This unfortunately left little choice for placing the camera anywhere,
so I had to handhold at 1/30th sometimes. Almost did a Michael Douglas
imitation (Romancing the Stone)when I tried to balance the camera on
an old tree at the edge of a hill and my foot went through the rotted
roots. Yuck!

Anyone planning a 3D jungle expedition on the cheap, Puerto Vallarta
is well worth the trip.
