Subject: What we learned in July 2008

I see we were only 3 posts shy of an all-time record for the most
traffic this list has seen since it started in July 2006 with 254
postings for the month of July. We even beat the numbers of posts on
Photo 3-D in the last week!!!

I would like to say this is because of the new resurgence in interest
in MF3D. The logs show this to be partly true, as quite a few
different people discussed different topics, which is what we all
desire. However, the records also show that 112 of those 254 posts
were by TWO people, with slight variants on the same topic, mostly
within the same week, many within the SAME DAY!!!

In this regard, I think we need to ask ourselves: Can some of these
posts be summed up in a single daily email rather than a rapid
succession of responses between too few? My thinking is one well
thought out response is much more valuable to the archives then a
flurry of partial thoughts and misinterpretations. I would also be
less intimidating to those that are sitting at the wings with ideas or
questions, perhaps not ready for a barrage of bullets!

In any case, here's what I learned in July 2008:

1. Red Windows in stereo cameras make some people go postal.

2. There are a myriad of interesting stereo viewer ideas in this group.

3. Every member of this group has an absolute opinion on which viewer
type is best and there's not a hope in hell of ever changing their minds.

4. 3DWorld might have a new viewer, but nobody knows for sure.

5. Viewer illumination in Chinese translates to "Leads the worn out
fur woman with no pubic hair to be composed". That in itself made the
month worthwhile for me!

I'll be looking forward to see what August brings. As for me, it seems
like a great month for shooting MF3D!!!
