I though we were clear on this. No cross posting from Photo-3D or any
other list. The messages that were not directed to this list have been
removed.

Actually, let me expand on this a bit. I don't think there are any
issues with somebody introducing a topic from another list, as long as
it is relevant. The reason the messages were removed was that the
title was from another list, and the subject matter did not seem
relevant to MF3D. If I misinterpeted this myself I do apologize.

As moderator I do want to keep the best interests of the group front
and center, and keep the discussion interesting and informative. It's
hard balancing between a free-for-all hecklefest and draconian rule
sometimes. Losing a few members recently caused a little concern, but
in reality this is a very healthy group. I use the term Moderator
loosely, as I have never moderated any posts before they are sent to
the group. I may offer it for those who need assistance though.

That's it, now I'm really wasting valuable 3D time. Carry on!

Sam

Actually this (now mostly deleted) thread "A
little private competition" was evolved from a
previous thread "What I learned in July 2008"
which had itself evolved and was now on the
subject of "Stretch" and "Lilliputism" which Don
Lopp did not know were different. I have to
admit that neither of those thread lines sound
like they have anything to do with MF stereo but
AFAIK, both of them did originate on MF3D and so
they were not "Cross Posted". The subject of
"stretch" is relevant to all stereo photography
including MF and has no doubt been on P3D at some
time. "Stretch" being basic to stereo
Photography, would be best kept on P3D as most of
the MF 3Der are well up on what makes stereo
photography work and don't need to be told what
they already know. However, to move it to P3D
would be to "Cross Post".

I apologize for not reposting the subject line as
"stretch" or at this point "stretch V
lilliputism" which would have made the subject of
the thread easily known. I did not coin either
of the thread names.

I now feel that I should not have responded to it
at all as I was not offering new information to
most MF shooters.

Your roll as "moderator" is likely not an easy
one and I for one, appreciate your efforts.

Thank You,
