I ordered two of the new viewers. The first one I opened had one of the black focus
adjusting levers off. After experimenting a while I was able to reattach it by threading a
paperclip through it to align it with the internal focus adjustment. Once that was done I had
a fabulous viewer that I am thrilled with. If you had brought one of these to an NSA
convention a few years ago I would have cheerfully paid $400 for it.

The second viewer didn't have any issues with the focusing control, but the backlight is much
dimmer than the first viewer. It's too dim to be useable. I have tried multiple sets of
batteries switched back and forth between the two viewers and this doesn't seem to be the
issue. Does anyone else have any suggestions? (I'll check with you about this off-list
George.)

Check to see if the LED strip along the bottom is pointing
directly up into the lexan sheet. Light input to the sheet
falls dramatically as the LEDs tip.
