Subject: Tweaked Sputnik / TL-120 / Realist 2.8Date: 2008-12-01 22:44:30From: Steven Lederman
I'm enjoying my Sputnik a great deal since it's received a tweaking by a fellow Forum Member. I've mounted some of my recent post-tweak slides, and have been really pleased. Hopefully the Forum Member will let me pay him some day. ; P
Anyhow, I had the opportunity to review some slides I shot with my 2.8 Realist the other day, and there seems to be some sort of 'magic' when viewing a Realist slide that's lacking a bit in the Sputnik photos. Is it because the Realist was my first camera and the Sputnik is relatively new? Is it the quality of the lenses?
I'm presently on the fence in regards to purchasing a 3D World TL-120. It's a big, luxurious purchase, especially in these economic times. I've been told that for people shots, it wipes the floor with any Sputnik. People shots comprise roughly about 90% of my photographic output.
Will a TL-120 be just like having a medium-format version of the 2.8 Realist?
I'm not talking about the aspect ratio - I'm talking about the 'magic' when you look into the viewer, perceived or otherwise.
