Hi! I posted the following message already in photo-3de. Maybe one of
you could help me with experiences in doing enamel repair to damaged
camera body surfaces?!

I plan to do some repair on a few of my stereo cameras. Some of them
lost paint on the metallic camera body and I want to replace the
colour with enamel paint for cameras. Can anyone help with the working
process and materials needed? Do I have to prepair the areas with
sandpaper? Should I airbrush the enamel pait with an airbrush pistol?
What else do I have to keep in mind if I want to do a successfull job?
You would do me a great favour, if you let me know about your
experiences in this thing!

Best regards, Chris

Didn't see an answer, so I'll give my two cents.

If you are just doing minor touchups, black (or whatever color)
fingernail polish can work fine. If too glossy, blend in with
jeweller's rough or toothpaste.

For deeper marks I mix enamel with 5 minute expoxy for a real hard finish.

Anything more and it might be better to mask and repaint the whole camera.

Hope this helps.

Sam
