Subject: Twin rig bar?

I'm going to Europe in a couple of months, and I honestly can't
imagine lugging a T120 with flash all over the place, and stressing
about the possibility of having all of my film xrayed. I'm considering
taking two of the new Kodsk Zx1 cameras and mounting them on a bar.
Can anyone recommend a bar for this application, or cite instructions
for a DIY project? I know this isn't really a MF question, and I
apologize. Maybe someone will chime in about their experiences, good
or bad, about lugging a medium format camera and accoutrements through
Europe?

First, there is no similarity to MF film and digital so you need to
decide which you want. It really has nothing to do with cost, easy of
use, etc.

Second, if you are worried about X-Ray then simply have film mailed to
your hotel (either by yourself or the store you buy it from - such as
B&H) and mail the exposed film back to your home, or have it developed
while you are there.

Third, there is no way to sync the Kodak cameras so you might as well
use only one on a slide bar or use the cha-cha/side-step method.

Fourth, most any flash bracket will do for mounting two small cameras
side by side. You can find these in the "used" or "discount" bin of
most camera shops.

Fifth, all of the stereo dealers carry dual camera bars and slide bars:

Berezin 3D - http://www.berezin.com/3d/
3DStereo - http://www.3dstereo.com/
Dr. T. 3D - http://home.att.net/~drt-3d/catalog/index.htm

In fact Dr. T. has several items in eBay right now:

A Jasper Engineering slidebar - #220393422269
A 16" Jasper Twin Bar - #370185968559
A Slik Twin Bar - #370187073417

Hope that helps,

Maybe consider a retrofitted Sputnik?  It is much smaller and lighter.  You'll have to master manual exposure by eye but it can do the trick.

I reserve film for special projects.

For practical 3D I use twined digitals. I built 3 generations of hard wired cameras mounted together. Now I use SDM and a nice pair of Canon SD870 cameras, IMO there is not better way to go digital wise. I can shirt pocket the mounted cameras (w/neck strap) in case it falls out.

You can even shoot stereo video with this set up. Its small compact, very portable and I like the wider than typical lens of the SD870 (28mm eqv for a 35mm camera). It's as close to a point and shoot 3D camera you cna get. SDM is available FREE on the web and for many Canon models. No soldering or opening the cameras needed. A simple 3 cell batteryw/push button or Ricoh CA-1 USB remote release (w/'Y' connector) is all that is needed. Your zoom setting show up on-screen etc.(so you can match the zoom setting) The CHDK boots up on the cameras when you turn them on. SDM is available for many canon models, check the SDM list before buying one..oops I mean Two for stereo.

Just search for StereoDataMaker or SDM on the web or here is a link right here on Yahoo for the SDM group.

(*&*( JD try it, y'll like it.

I can second this, more or less. SDM is simple and pretty robust (once you get your switch working). There are some annoyances, like double pulsing and waiting for the flash (i.e. definitely not spontaneous), the occasional mis-sync, and abysmally slow continuous synced mode in which you have to pulse the cameras by hand (or buy/build an external pulse generator)! OTHO it's cheap, like where can you get a decent pair of cameras that can take over 4000 pix on one set of AA rechargeables for ~$100 each?
