I am thinking about buying a TL-120, but am wondering if they work right, are they light tight, do the light meters work? How about focusing and the range finder?

thanks in advance

Plenty of people have had problems with their TL120s. Plenty
of others have not. The archives of this list contain many
stores.

I haven't heard of any light leaks in later cameras. My very
first TL120 from 2006 sometimes showed a leak through the red
window, but the design has changed and it is now a non-issue.

There is no range finder. There is a micro-prism on the
ground-glass. I'm usually at hyper-focal distance anyway, so
I'll let others speak to ease and accuracy of focusing.

Harry has reported that his meter is badly off. One of my
cameras has a fully functional meter and matches well with my
hand-held sekonic. I have not reconnected the meter in the
second after replacing its lenses.

No, the TL120 isn't a perfect camera. But neither my
Rolleidoscop nor my Sputnik have seen much action since I got
my first TL120.
