Hi

Has anyone tried take digital stereo pairs and running them out to 120mm stereo?

My twinned IXUS is 12 million pixels. Could use a slide bar on my 5d mkii

Yes, several people have. Probably the person with the most experience
and testing of various labs and input/outputs is John Hart (Colorado). He
is on the list, so should answer you when he sees this.

I would say that any consumer grade point and shoot will not give you the
quality you need. It is a lot more than just megapixels - things like
color space, dynamic range, sensor size, etc. are much more important.

I fully understand the want and need for digital output to MF. I would
love to be able to put some of my HDR images on film and look at them in
a hand viewer. I have done that with 35mm and the results were
exceptional (using Ken Luker's service).

Hope that helps,

I also have an increasing interest in this - for making MF3d gallery installations of my most recent (digital) images.

Hello Boris,

I also have an increasing interest in this - for making MF3d gallery installations of my most recent (digital) images.

What is the source of your digital images?

Right now my source is a Pentax K10D (10MP). I am not sure it would be enough for a quality MF film image.

Thanks,

My source is Canon D60 which is 6MP images.

I wouldn't get a "quality" MF3d image, but I'd get a MF3d image, period.  The format has advantages other than (just) image quality.

I'm using a twinned IXUS 100IS which is 12million pixels.

Hello Mark,

You can go ahead and give these a try, but as both John and I said our
opinions are that the resuting MF slide will not be good enough.

As far as the suggestion to use Ken Luker - I think he is only doing 35mm
right now. His film recorder will take a MF back, but I don't think he
has one for it.

Hope that helps,

Has anybody tried this place;

https://www.gammatech.com/html/recordingmed.shtml

they do 120mm slides from digital files from $10/slide... same slide images go down to $8 - and if you're doing bulk they might make a deal...

I haven't tried them but wondered if anyone else has.
