As Lubitels are back on the market does anyone know if the new Lubitels have an internal baffle to block internal reflections? I've read that the last "Made In Russia" Lubitels had this feature. Also, any plans by LOMO to make a new Sputnik?
Thanks

The Lubitel 166+ is a new design based on the old Lubitel 166
Universal. There are a lot of changes, and as far as I can tell from
having spoken to a Lomography (not LOMO) spokewoman at last year's
Photo Expo Plus, the 166+ is not made from the original 166U molds.
They changed a lot of things to get the 35mm film capability.

Personally I would not buy a 166+. For the the price of a 166+ ($340)
you can easily get a nice used TLR. Even a Rolleicord Vb isn't that
much more. I bought my Lubitels for $40 (shipping and taxes included)
back in 1997. I don't think they're worth more than that.

Lomography's Lubitel 166+ history page shows the Sputnik (at the
bottom) as a sort of curious cousin.

But it is refreshing to see new product in this area. I
suspect the lenses and shutters would be drop-ins for a Sputnik.
