  Hello,
Not yet having bought any Lomo sourced viewers, one wonders how they stack up to the Chinese kids? Any opinions?

Are we talking about those sold to use with the stereo Holga?
http://www.3dstereo.com/viewmaster/svn-hol2q.html

The mounts created for use with their camera are such
abominations that I can't imagine that the viewer they have
created is any better.

Yes, one should have used the word Holga, instead of Lomo. If the gate allows the same cardboard mounts that fit into the chinese hand viewers...
So far, I've only used the chinese viewers. Just wanted to know if the optics were bad enough to not be used when a price point is a concern. Not having heard a general wailing and gnashing of teeth, one hoped they might be a rare good item, not to be visited with the reputation of the joke of the camera.

I have not personally tried the viewer but a friend of mine told me that the optics were bad and he returned it.

I'd be concerned with the spacing of the image-frames inside
the viewer and the inter-ocular spacing. If their mounts are
any indication, Lomo/Holga has no idea how to mount or view
stereo images.

I had this to say about their mounts:
"While similar in external appearance to the new 3D World
mounts, they are fundamentally flawed. Even if the moldings
were accurately made (which they are not), Holga has
recreated the design defects of the first-edition 3D World
mounts. The spacing of the apertures means that anything
mounted in them will be forced in front of the stereo
window. It will be impossible to do precision mounting in
the the Holga mounts and they are not recommended."

I've never seen their viewer.

Ditto, assuming you refer to the Holga viewer... the Eye Releif is so short,
you need your pupils smack on the glass, barely usable... the 3d world viewer for a few
dollars more is usable for those who do not wear corrected eyewear for infinty viewing and
have a common IPD, 62mm +/- 2.5mm. Otherwise the lighted 3dworld viewer would solve the
focus problem for some, and the IPD problem, but not the Eye Relief problem..
