In case no one has noticed, MF film sources and types have been eroding for some time now. I can remember when we had 220, 116, 616, and several other sizes, including cut (sheet) film in MF sizes readily available everywhere, not just on "special order" from specialized suppliers. I still have a 2-1/4 x 3-1/4 glass plate holder. 120, 116, etc., film was available everywhere from pharmacies to dime stores to kiosks.
A lot of good ideas, based on MF film sizes, were never to be. For example, I had a design for a 360 degree stereo camera based on 120 film. It would have had an inner cylinder, around which two layers of film (sans antihalation backing and paper backing) would be wrapped, emulsion side out, interleaved with polarizers. At one time a transparent emulsion was made for duplex printing (long gone). Two lenses would be mounted on an outer cylinder on a ring that, along with slit-scan shutters, would rotate around the outside. Polarizers would be mounted behind each lens, and each lens would be focused on its own layer.

back in April I could not find it at my usual stores. It was not listed as Back Ordered. I called
Fuji and was told they had discontinued it. They cut back on the slower movers. Maybe it is all
moving slow now.
