Wow.

For years, I've hesitated to do this. Deciphering the DR5 web
site and workflow is tough, I didn't know how I was going to
expose it, and didn't want to spend the money to learn. The
results on my first roll were well worth the expense. (The
other roll, didn't turn out so well, but we'll ignore that one.)

I chose to try DR5 with HP5 film. I treated it as an ISO-400
film, loaded up the camera and climbed down under the ice.
There isn't very much light below the ice, so even with
400-speed film, shutter speeds of 1 second are common. I had
been very pleased with the images I had been getting with
Fuji Provia 400X, but the details captured on the HP5 are
fantastic.

I'm off to B&H to order up some more film so I'll have it
available when lake finally freezes :)
