3x4" separate pairs fetching a pretty penny...seems to be more from the 30's-40's - maybe masters for some commercial items?

Some of the others still up for bid look like medical specimens.
Don't think I could handle looking at those in huge, vivid 3D! :-)

Just look at what subjects are “fetching a pretty penny” and which close with zero bids.

Knowing the seller, I am sure you got these from ebay as part of a larger lot that he is now breaking it to individual items.

So, I'm wondering ....who here won any? :-)

My bids dropped off soon, and I was away as the desirable item auctions ended.

But the real mystery is: Where did these things come from, and for what use? As separately mounted 3x4"s, I'm thinking it was for a large projection show. They seem a little on the pale side - not typical of Kodachrome. And the old, streamline fashions and colors look much earlier than 50's.

Isn't that the format that was used for the "road" show (can't remember the proper title) that we saw at an NSA  Convention a few years ago?

My guess is Kodachrome from a 5x7 stereo camera. Kodachrome was made in sheet film sizes until the 1950s.

I won two pairs. Both are of Nash automobiles. I bid on most.

It would be cool if there was a folio of these so that we could all see them.

Someone mentioned a "faded" look to them, I assume they were
made to project, which would have done some fading.I'm curious
thear if this is the case, when you receive your "winnings"

P.S, Wasn't the "road show" of "Barber Greene" macAdam paving equipment /

Got the pairs I won... very pleased!

They ARE Kodachrome. They are in individual mounts, while the HIGHWAY USA show had the pairs on a metal "hanger" that loaded into the giant stereo slide projector. The full image width on most of these is 3", height 2 1/4"... I've got to figure the best way to view these with minimal cropping~!?
