Aren't some versions of Ektachrome still around, at least E100 which I see on both Adorama and B&H sites in 120 size. I personally use Provia 100 or 400. -Linda

Unfortunately Kodak announced the end of all of it's E6 film back in
March 2012.

I still see some available at Adorama, but the price has gone up at
least 50% per roll since my last purchase.

I was able to stock pile a few boxes before the price increase, but
once it's gone I'm going to have to make a serious decision. Either
1) switch to Fuji (but I really dislike Fuji's color balance); 2)
learn to reversal process B&W film (Dr.5 is too expensive); or 3) stop
shooting MF3D, and just mount all the processed film I have squirreled
away.

I am quite happy with the colour balance of Provia 100f and now Provia 400x. These look fairly similar to Kodachrome, only more consistent results and finer grain.

What's left at Adorama and other outlets is supposed to be NOS. Kodak, unlike Fujifilm, has not reinstated products due to customer demand. Fujifilm did bring back Velvia 50 and has in the past brought back Fortia on the Japanese market. There was a press statement several months ago from Kodak that they might consider doing small runs of previously produced emulsions but I believe it was insinuated that some business person would have to front the money in order for them to do that. I'm not that crazy about 400X. I prefered Ektachrome 200, but Provia 100F is not bad and I've started to get used to it. It seems to me that there's plenty of Ektachrome around if you want to stock up. Ironically it hasn't been disappearing as fast as Kodachrome flew off the shelves when Kodak announced its discontinuance. It's ironic because Ektachrome was always touted as the replacement for Kodachrome.

That's because the processing was also getting discontinued while E-6 processing is still available.
