Is there a template for a DOF analog dial calculator for the Sputnik that somebody has created? I don't want to re-invent the wheel (or dial in this case) if I don't have to.

Thanks

Timo

Have you seen DOF MAster <http://www.dofmaster.com/>?

Their software is available for a lot of different platforms. The MS
Windows version will print out a dial calculator.

I use DOF Master on an iPod Touch. I used to use it on a Palm PDA.
The PalmOS interface was nicer. It let you directly enter your chosen
Circle of Confusion. When using the the iOS version you have to pick
from a pre-selected list of cameras, formats, or values for CoC.

I saw this on a search while I was on a Mac so I ignored it. I am trying to install it on my PC now (Windows 8 so who knows if it will work). Looks perfect though. Thanks.

It won't install on 8. Quelle surprise.

If you didn't hear it from me before, never install or buy Windows 8. Almost nothing works on it, and I am now abandoning digital stereo because of it. I bought my first ever PC for stereo use exclusively and absolutely nothing works on it.

On the bright side, I am shifting totally to MF film.

I wonder what went wrong. I got it to install without
complaint on Win8. Rather than use the dofsetup.exe
file, however, I used 7-zip to extract the install files to
a folder, and ran the setup.exe from there.
(Right-clicked the dofsetup.exe file and used the 7-zip
context menu.)

I've used Windows from ver.2.11, and I feel that the
Win8 schizoid interface and 2-D look is an
abomination, but it ought to work as well as Win7 for
running what you want. Please don't give up on it;
bend it to your will. First thing I did was install Classic
Start Menu (via. SourceForge), and set things up to
mimic my Win7 system as much as possible. The DOF
Master files are from 2002, so they're ancient at this
point. I think it's amazing that they do seem to work...

Thanks. I'll try that when I have a chance. I also use Classic Start menu (it was recommended as an improvement, even though I never used it before) and it is a help.
