Greetings,

A friend of mine gave me two MF viewers to sell in ebay.

The first one is very nicely constructed, all wood, nice lenses, internal illumination, etc.  The only drawback is that it is designed for cardboard mounts and the plastic 3d World mounts will not fit.  You can see it here:

The other viewer is interesting too.  It is “Open Air” design so you need to supply your own light table and you are not limited by the size of the mount.  You can also use it as a mounting preview device.  It comes with two sets of lenses, a standard and a high magnification.  This is an auction and the bid is only $2.25 now (I hope it will go higher :))

I asked my friend where he got these and who made them.  He was not very helpful, just pointing me to to Robert’s web page: http://www.skep.com/3D/gallery.htm

Thank you,

Well, I can tell you about the second one. It was never intended to be a "viewer" for extended viewing or sharing.

It is a mounting jig I built and offered several years ago to members of the MF3D mailing list. You can search the list archives (or email me next week) for more details. As I recall, I assembled about a dozen if them and that is one I scraped together later out of left over parts. The lens boards aren't as pretty as the "real" ones were, but they are functional. The white ringed lenses arent anything special, but the lenses in the black rings are nice.

I use mine with a 4x5 light tablet on the wooden base. It can also be used on a light table with the lens board reversed so it looks more like a Z. The lens board is designed to lift out of the way when taping chips to your mounts.

No interest for the nice wooden viewer at the original asking price so I am accepting offers:
