Subject: 6x14/17 Back on Sputnik?

Take a look at eBay item # 181170007315.  Does anyone think it would be possible to mount one of these contraptions to the back of the Sputnik?  The reason why I ask is that it would make it possible to make a pair of 6x7 images, which would enhance the ability to crop the image.

Thanks,

Steve

Anything is possible, Steve. But on a Sputnik?

There isn't much of an image mask at the film-plane of the Sputnik. If
you want to capture 6x7 pairs with a Sputnik you are going to have to
enlarge the film gates. Doing so is going to breech the sides of the
film chambers and cause you all sorts of difficulties getting them
light-tight again.
And after you do that, do you think your Sputnik lenses are going to
cover a 6x7 area?

If what you want is a 6x7, why not just buy a Rolleidoscop? They start
rectangular. The second thing I did with my 'scop was to mask the film
gates down to square. If you have your heart set on that particular
modern back, then start with a 6x12 Heidoscop which was designed to
handle different backs.
