I've just had the opportunity to view a few folio images by
Geoffrey Waldo, and his workflow is something we should pay
attention to. He has shot is originals with a Sony SLT A55,
pumped them through his normal digital workflow, displayed
the results on his Seiki 3840x2160 screen, and photographed
the results.

I'll say up front that these images won't be mistaken for
original images shot on a TL120-1, but they are certainly
superior to the dupes I've had made on a film recorder from
my scanned film. They are also superior to film recorder
images made from bits captured on my Canon 7D.

Geoffrey, will you tell us more about your efforts and if you
have plans for tweaking the process?

Hold on. Are these going to be in Folio A? Now I just have to see them. I tried making some 35mm slides from shooting my computer screen with pretty good results, but my subject was from a questionable scanned image and was shot from an inverted image onto B&W negative film. Negatives make for poor slides.

Oh, _I_ don't need to hold on, Timo. I already have them in
my hot little hands and they will be continuing on their way
soon. Yes, they are in Folio A, and 'yes, you'll get to see
them soon.' If you'd like a preview, check out the folio pages:

Even if you are not a folio member, you are welcome to visit
the pages and see what Geoffrey had to say about his
technique. You will not, however, get to read or leave
comments. Those are privileges reserved for folio members.

It will be a great opportunity to see how this technique works.
