Many years ago Don Lopp sent me one of his home made Sputnik lens
hoods. They work well, except that they block the viewing lens (which
Don doesn't use), and they are kept on the camera with rubber bands.

On a recent trip up to Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome I wound up wasting one
of my precious remaining rolls of Kodak E100G when the hood shifted,
and I didn't notice. Four pairs on that roll have one frame blocked
by the hood.

I'd like to get individual hoods for the Sputnik lenses. I've seen
several suggestions online, but haven't been able to get my hands on
any of them.

What currently available hoods work with the Sputnik?

I've made hoods out of a cheap radix viewer.  I cut the cones with a  hot nichrome  wire, but a hacksaw  would work.   with careful  filing  and some sandpaper I got them pop on and  stay on.   work GREAT!!

I use Series V (5) hoods on 27mm (1-1/16") push-on Series V adapters.  Between that and the internal flocking provided by Ted Baskin, I've never had a flare problem.  The only problem with the Series V system is that all of the filters are very old and the product you get off of eBay is often un-usable.
