I'm bringing my spud out of retirement and would like to source lense hoods. Does anyone know where I can purchase something that will work? Or any suggestions on how to build something?

Thanks,

Matt

I turned a pair of rings out of "Delrin" on the lathe. I designed it with a threaded adapter ring glued on so I could put cheap vented hoods on it. A couple of set screws hold the plastic rings in place. Of course this requires a metal lathe to make.

I've made hoods out of a cheap radix viewer.  I cut the cones with a  hot nichrome  wire, but a hacksaw  would work.   with careful  filing  and some sandpaper I got them pop on and  stay on.   work GREAT!!
See pic :   Radix viewer  is on the right - available on EBay.  picture:   Inline image

ps    This  was posted Sept 6th   -  you might look there for more input.

Thanks for the pointer to the thread on September 6. I think I will try making some hoods from plumbing parts. I'll post a pic when they are done.
