Today I traveled to the London Ontario Camera Show to meet with Matt Neima - my plans were to take him out to lunch at his favourite Cuban restaurant and give him the slides I had processed and mounted for him.
When I arrived at the show James Mutch informed me that Matt had passed away last night after a rather defiant battle with cancer.
James and Matt and I had recently gone on a "photo romp" as Matt used to call it.  Matt seemed to really enjoy the outing, despite his diminished energy.  I'm thankful that we took that opportunity to go out and shoot some MF3D together.
A selection of Matt's work is currently making the rounds in the MF3D Folio - Folio 'A'.

Sorry to hear about this... I had met Matt in one of the NSA Conventions. A nice fellow.

This is sad news indeed. I only met him a few times but he was a very positive 3D guy, and a local guy for my area. It is a big loss for the community and for our Southern Ontario community in particular.

This is very sad news. I didn't know Matt was sick. I met Matt and James at one of the NSA conventions. It was wonderful to meet him, a friendly guy and a very good and enthusiastic photographer.

I mostly know him through the medium format folio, and I will miss both his images and his comments.

I never had the opportunity to meet Matt, as we communicated
entirely by email and shared folio images. Yet I am still
sad to hear of the death of my friend. I'm happy to have a
couple of Matt Neima originals in my collection, and sad to
think there will be no more.

Matt has images in-rotation in Folio-A. Please enjoy them,
and remember his generosity and willingness to help others
with our craft.
