Just secured one on auction and doesn't come with a viewer.

What do people recommend as hack  or off brand?

Cheers

People usually mount the "chips" into standard "Realist Format" mounts and then use the standard Realist viewers.

ISO Duplex made two mounts themselves which were nearly identical to the Realist mounts, however I measured one variant to be 23mm by 23mm, while another variant was exactly the same as Realist.  If you're using Realist mounts, you're going to need to free hand mount them using a gauge or SAM (or just eyeballing it) and taping the chips in place.  I believe at one point they sold a hole punch to extract the chips from the film roll similar to the technique used by Viewmaster and then you would put the chips into plastic sleeves and then slide those sleves into their cardboard mounts.  It was a pretty good system which was well suited to their use of 120 sized film.  Which do you have the earlier Duplex or later "Super" Duplex?

Hi

Have a super duplex and just dropped off the roll for processing and realised I've no idea what the advancing process is.

Is there a manual in english for it or do you have one?

There are two windows red for film advancement - how does that work?

My guess is the window shows frame count 1 and 1 and after taking one shot, advance the film so the 2nd windows 1 is now in first window?

My best guess.

Here's some information about the camera, which includes the winding sequence.

But it might be better to move this topic to another list, i.e. photo-3d, as the Duplex's output can't really be classified as "medium format".  It is essentially a Realist-format camera that uses 120 film instead of 35mm film.

thanks - I had skimmed the page when I first got the camera but hadn''t revisited after I put the film in the camera... dooh!

but having lost 1/2 shots my deduction was right - even if I didn't act on it on my first roll.

:The film runs vertically, with the supply spool at the bottom of the camera. The film is advanced with a winding knob and red windows (two of them). These show the numbers 1-12; each frame number must be wound into the lower window for one exposure, then the upper one for the next. There is an interlock to prevent double exposures.
