Hello everyone!

As some of you know I have just discovered the joys of MF3D, when I first joined this group I wrote a topic with question like What to look for when buying a Sputnik (and what to avoid).

I recieved many replies with great info, but one stood out to me, it was even sent off list.
It came from a kind man named John Goodman (Hi John).
He said he had an extra Sputnik that he didn't used, one reconditioned by the late Chuck (Charles) Holzner.

I never got the opportunity to converse with Chuck, but I have seen his name fly around this group and understand that he was very enthusiastic member and is missed by many.

John said he would send me this camera fo rthe price if shipping it, and that it would be nice if this Sputnik once again were given the chance to produce some nice stereo views.

Well, I can tell you now that Chuck did an amazing job on this camera, i found zero visible light leaks and the contrast seems absolutely normal when looking at the Provia 100 slides.
I couldn't be happier with the result!!!!
Overjoyed is close, but still not in the ballpark for how happy this makes me. : )
A stunning success!!

After I got back the first roll and realized that this camera once again is ready for action, I took it with me to various locations and started taking stereo photographs. My wife even asked me to bring it out on our 1st wedding anniversary where we went on a picnic at beautiful castle courtyard garden.
So you see, this camera lives on in it's new home, a home where it gets the chance to spread it's wings at as many opportunities as we can muster.

As you know I am still learning how to compose shots correctly and also trying to find out a good mounting technique, I've come along quite well with some of the basics, but I know there is a lot more for me to learn.
Hopefully there is always more to learn no matter how much experience we have gained.

So I wanted to extend a big, BIG thank you to John Goodman for placing this Sputnik in my hands.
Also a big thank you to Chuck for saving this Sputnik and making it a camera that take fantastic photographs.

Also a huge thank you to all of you at MF3D that replied to my questions and helping me understand this technology better. Both Off list and On list.

I just wanted to share this story with you and to show my appreciation for the people of this group.

: )

Until the next post,

Jesper
