The price of Fuji slide film will be increasing April 1st.
The minimum projected increase is 30%. Other photographic
products will also be increasing in cost, but this is the
one which affects MF3D.

"Over the past several years, Fujifilm has faced the rising
cost of raw materials and logistics. In the past Fujifilm
has absorbed some of the costs by undertaking intensive
structural reforms and communalization of production
facilities, but as a responsible manufacturing company and
to provide the high-quality products our customers expect,
the company will institute a price increase."

Between the lines, I read:
It's time to see how elastic the demand is.

John,

Thanks for this alert.  It motivated me to put in an order for more Provia while I can still get it for $7/roll (by the pack) at Unique Photo.

Also, I discovered that Adorama has a closeout sale on 5-packs of Fuji slide processing mailers, if you like their service.  (I believe it is processed by Dwayne's Photo in Parsons, KS.)

The closeout mailers I see are for PRINTS not slides. They still sell the slide mailers individually. They are indeed processed by Dwaynes (unless that has changed recently?). Not sure what Dwaynes charges directly but perhaps not much of a price break. Linda

Linda,

The Adorama listing does indeed show a picture of a print film mailer, but the item description says slide film mailers.  I tried asking a customer service rep on the phone, but he seemed clueless.  I'm not sure he knew what the difference was!

Anyway, I ordered some.  I'll post to the list when I get them & find out for sure.

Dwayne's charges $8.50 to process a roll of 120, $8.95 to process and mount 135-36.  Not sure about processing 135 & returning it uncut.  In addition, they charge $5 postage for the first roll, less for additional rolls.  The mailers I ordered work out to $6.20 per roll for processing & return postage.  Less than the toll I had to pay last time I drove to my nearest E-6 processor.

I used to print up adhesive-backed labels that said:   PROCESS ONLY, DO NOT MOUNT, DO NOT CUT !   I would stick these on to every roll or cartridge that I would send to the lab for processing.
